About My Practice
My practice is grounded in trauma-informed care and a person-centered, attachment-based, humanistic perspective. I often work with those struggling to resolve trauma, depression, and anxiety as well as those who wish to build coping skills for a better quality of life as well as explore mindfulness and interoception. While I do identify as using an eclectic approach to best support my clients, I most frequently utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills. I also integrate interventions from Somatic Experiencing, mindfulness, mindful movement, the expressive arts, and trauma-sensitive yoga into my practice. I believe in using a holistic approach, meaning that we must put into consideration during care the whole person- mental, spiritual, social, and physical factors. Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding modalities or populations I specialize in.
What To Expect
For all folks reaching out regarding services, I offer a free 15 minute consultation to make sure I am a good fit for your preferences, goal, and needs. We will also discuss treatment goals, preferred modalities, boundaries, insurance, and scheduling to ensure a lack of conflicts.
In our first session together, we will review my practice policies and professional expectations. We will also discuss your own expectations for me and therapy. We will then begin to work towards building our therapeutic relationship as we complete a care plan that will discuss life and therapy goals, professional and natural supports, and coping skills amongst other topics. Once a care plan is established, we can start working towards the deeper work. I pride myself in working hard to meet my clients where they are as well as support their needs. I am always happy to explain my clinical perspective or provide psychoeducation during sessions.
If you have any more questions about what to expect or how I can help you, please feel free to contact me.
